ANZSEE CONFERENCE
CREATING A GREEN FUTURE MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA |
"The economy is a wholly owned subsidiary of the natural ecosystem" (Ehrlich 1997)
It is no longer possible to discuss economics in isolation from considerations of the ecosphere. Nor is it possible to discuss environmental issues without regard to their economic context. The creation of a green future will require an indepth understanding of the complex interaction between the economy and the ecosphere.
The CREATING A GREEN FUTURE Conference aims to foster such an understanding through transdisciplinary discourse. By encouraging the exchange of ideas between people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives, the Conference will provide a richer and more enlightening discussion of the environmental issues confronting us.
The conference includes two afternoons of concurrent sessions. Papers and discussions in the concurrent sessions cover a diverse range of topics including:
The four day Conference includes a one day field trip and several social functions including a Conference dinner.
